Welcome! My name is Simone Di Matteo and I am a Space Physicist! I was born in Abruzzo, a region in the center of Italy, in which I spent my entire academic formation. I have been an undergraduate and then graduate student at the Department of Physical and Chemical Sciences of the University of L’Aquila. I obtained my PhD in 2019 working on the identification of Ultra Low Frequency waves in the Earth’s magnetosphere and periodic density structures in the solar wind. Later the same year, I moved to Maryland, USA, as a PostDoc at The Catholic University of America (CUA) and NASA - Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).

I am currently a Research Scholar at CUA and NASA-GSFC working as a PI on a NASA grant aimed to understand the geo-effectiveness of solar wind periodic density structures.
